This is a fantastic way to get people to stop treating their brakes like a fucking on/off switch.

IIRC this is easily done on most YJ and TJ Wranglers.

I was in tears watching this trying not to bust out laughing in my cube at work.

One of the guys (friend of a friend) I ride motorcycles with (once or twice a year) is a 60 year old guy who found a cheap Harley. He hasn’t ridden a motorcycle since he was in his 20s and refuses to accept the fact that he is a new rider.
I noticed one ride that his brake light was out. While I was watching to see if it was possibly his hand or foot brake switch, I discovered something else wrong with his motorcycle. He was a foot-only braker.
Holy shit.
I told him that he had better get out of that habit as soon as possible before he finds himself in a situation where he needs to stop quickly.
He was shocked. I told him (after I fixed his tail light) that if I had the time, I would wire his horn to his rear brake switch for the rest of the trip to help teach him.
I didn’t, and he laid the bike down a month later. Someone pulled out in front of him in traffic, and he couldn’t stop in time. He went under the rear bumper - rear tire first.
Dumbass.

A friend of mine’s father (Nam Vet, RIP Mr. Nortstrom!) wired a toggle switch into his brake light system.
Nothing more fun the the “ghost brake check.” Good times.

Shit, come to my office.
I was in tears, didn’t bother trying not to burst out laughing, and rounded up everyone for a second viewing who didn’t already stop by to find out what the hell I was laughing uncontrollably at.

Hi beams should be wired to the horn to keep clueless jackasses from driving around with them on all the time.

Wow, guess he got what he deserved. Brakes are on the handlebars for a reason!

My yj has a tailgate from a 95 with the third brake light. I’m gonna get rid of it since it’s a 91 (sport roll bar best roll bar) and fmvss only applies for 94 and up.

I agree sport roll bar is best roll bar, but I still have a TJ bar in my CJ.

I took out the rear seat since deck cover and I don’t want crushed spines from my rear passenger in the event of a rollover.

that rollbar is designed to aid occupants in exiting the vehicle in case of rollover, sans lap belts of course.

Brakes are on the FRONT WHEEL for a reason.

The groomsmen at my sister’s wedding did this to their truck. Then my BiL rode the brakes around the parking lot.

Nope. Not funny at all.
It’s one thing to do a prank to inconvenience somebody, such as covering everything on their desk with aluminum foil. This is dangerous, and stupid.

One of my great-uncles had a switch on his brake lights. He installed them in all his vehicles even long after he stopped working shall we say in the still of the night.

Topgear already did this
